Apple Pie Run 2010

Office Max Parking Lot:
For the second annual Apple Pie Run, the morning started out much nicer than last year. Not a cloud in the sky and the weather man is calling for temps in the mid to high 80's.
As I arrive at the meeting location at 8:30am sharp, I could tell it was going to be a good turn-out as there were already three cars in the paring lot. You can alway's count on the support from the of families Victor Pierson and Calvin Bisel as they wait patitently for other members to arive.
We are kind of on a schedule so at 9:00am sharp, we line up and our journey south through Almaden Valley begins.

Calero Lake:
'Deja Vu'
No way, this picture looks just like the one we took last year, except for a few new faces and some new club cars. Anyway's, this is a perfect site for a great picture with the lake and rolling hills in the background.
As we entered the gate and approached the guard just ahead, we were greeted with a smile from ear to ear. Coinsidently, it was the same lady that let us in last year. It just so happens that she is a hugh Muscle Car nut herself. Again, the nice lady guard let us all in for no charge. I hope she is here again next year and if she is, I am going to ask her if she would like a ride around the parking lot and a picture next to her favorite car. Can't wait til next year.

Calero Lake (the other side):
Breath-taking. The cars, the mountains. Yes, all of the above. This picture really says it all, on a Sunday afternoon. Sure beats mowing the lawn or pulling the weeds.

Uvas Reservoir:
This was really a casual day, we had plenty of time to get to our final destination so we decided to take another pit stop here at Uvas.

It's good to see the reservour full. The extra rain we got late in the season really helped to fill them up.

High A TOP AT Mt. Madonna:
We missed this stop last year so I made sure we had plenty of time on this run to make this stop. This is the parking lot next to the historical Mt. Madonna Inn Unfortunitly it appeared to be closed and out of business. Nevertheless, it is a great place to pull over and take a few pictures. On a clear day like today, you can see the entire Santa Cruz valley and a nice shot of the Pacific Ocean.

Lunch At Gizdich Ranch:
Lunch on the club, sure why not. This suggestion was voted unanamouly at the June meeting. Sort of a no brainer. Who in their right mind would vote no. Nothing fancy, just a sandwich, chips, fruit cup and a cookie. I felt like I was in kindergarten again. No problem, the real treat was the home made pies, that's why we were all here. We came for the pies. One Apple, and one Olallie pie. That really hit the spot. This was a great trip, can't wait to do it again next year.
